How to watermark a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF into the box above.
  2. Choose text or image watermark.

Technical limitations

  • Watermarks are baked into the PDF page content and cannot be removed afterwards. Keep a backup of the original.
  • Rotation is applied to text via pdf-lib's degrees rotation, which rotates around the anchor point.
  • Image watermarks support PNG and JPG.

Can I remove a watermark later?

Not with this tool. Watermarks become part of the page content. Always keep a backup of your original PDF.

What's the best rotation?

45° for diagonal, 0° for horizontal center, 90° for vertical side text.

Does "Tile" fill the whole page?

Yes — it repeats the watermark in a grid covering the page.
